COVID-19 ISSUES REAR THEIR UGLY HEAD… AGAIN

EVERS EDUCATION SPENDING

Federal data shows that the Evers administration has spent less than 20% of the $3 billion allotted to our state in federal COVID-19 relief funds for education. This should help you understand why, in part, Rep. Dittrich voted "Yes" for our state budget, and will currently vote "No" to any additional increase to spending on public education.

Fighting Fear with Facts

Fight fear with FACTS.
Is COVID-19 real? Yes!
Can you get very sick? Yes!
Should you care for your health accordingly? Absolutely!
Is getting COVID-19 automatically a death sentence? Absolutely not!
Does getting COVID-19 mean you will automatically end up in the ER or hospital? No!
After 18 months of dealing with this illness, you know who is most at risk and how to remain healthy.

Respond accordingly. And don't forget that you can find your best daily data on the Wisconsin Hospital Association COVID-19 Situational Awareness Update page and/or the Wisconsin Department of Health Services COVID-19: Wisconsin Summary Data page.

LAWSUITS FORTHCOMING

As people's constitutional rights are violated and previous court decisions ignored, expect more litigation over this latest rush to require masks and vaccinations.

For the record, Rep. Dittrich has no problem with people deciding to get vaccinated and use masks. However, she believes this is a personal health choice and should be respected as such.

LEGISLATURE VOTE ON UW SYSTEM

Our UW students have needlessly suffered mental distress, had their rights violated, & received subpar education over this past year-and-a-half. Rep. Dittrich is glad to see her colleagues on the Joint Committee for Review of Administration Rules (JCRAR) assert their legal authority over these university rules and requirements. She has already been receiving complaints from profs, students, and parents.

MAJOR PROBLEMS AT DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

MAJOR problems continue with the Department of Workforce Development, Unemployment Insurance Division. Rep. Dittrich continues to fight for constituents who are now receiving letters demanding repayment of thousands of dollars in UI overpayment. One vulnerable constituent has even had a lien placed on her property by DWD!

ADDICTION LEGISLATION

Rep. Dittrich is working with community experts and advocates like Your Choice to Live on shaping additional public policy regarding addiction. Preventing our school-aged students from ever stepping down this path is of special concern.

ADOPTION LEGISLATION

Rep. Dittrich was excited to meet with tribal leaders on Wednesday, August 4th to discuss working together on foster care, permanency, and adoption issues. Legislation is forthcoming this fall session.

PRO-LIFE LEGISLATION

Rep. Dittrich reintroduced her legislation with Sen. Stroebel that requires DHS to decertify by July 1, 2022, a provider under the Medical Assistance program that is a private entity that performs or induces elective abortions or is an affiliate of a person that performs or induces elective abortions.

HWY 67 BIKE TRAIL CROSSING IN OCONOMOWOC

As Rep. Dittrich continues to work with the DOT, the City of Oconomowoc, and Waukesha County on the bike tunnel issue, she wanted to let constituents know that she has managed to get the DOT to agree to lengthen the red light timing going N/S on Hwy 67 at Oconomowoc Parkway to give bicyclists ample time to safely cross. This will add an extra layer of safety as we work to get the tunnel project over the finish line.

CONSTITUENT CORNER

What a delight it was for Rep. Dittrich to be working in-district today and run into her old friend, Freddie, when she stopped to see the progress on Oconomowoc's new skate park! This team is working so hard to make this dream a reality for our citizens. Special thanks also to the always-generous, Craig Schiefelbein, and to Alderman Lou Kowieski for your commitment to this incredible facility!
