ELECTION INTEGRITY

To best protect the integrity of our elections and ensure every legal vote counts, the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections needs specific and actionable information sent to the following e-mail address: election.complaints@legis.wi.gov.

Electionintegrity

It is recommend that a complaint, concern or allegation would include the following:

  • Specific and first-hand information regarding potential fraud/misconduct. Hearsay or news reports of non-specific events are not useful.
  • Detail on the incident/practice being reported (what, where, when and who).
  • Any supporting materials that would be helpful in vetting the allegation. This could include photos or names of witnesses.
  • Contact information so the person can be reached for clarification or additional information. If people choose to remain anonymous, that is their right but it may limit the value of their information if it is incomplete.

CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE

You may have heard that our governor has sadly continued his assault on the Wisconsin State Capitol Christmas Tree by prohibiting its placement in the building this year.

2019 Capitol Christmas Tree

'What’s the big deal?’ you may ask. Did you know that the simple setting up of our Christmas tree can positively impact people’s mental health, which has been under unprecedented assault this year? Did you further know that Wisconsin is 5th in the nation for the sale of Christmas trees? Wisconsin’s Christmas tree industry provides thousands of jobs through their production and delivery as well as natural habitat for the state’s wildlife. The prohibition of our Capitol Christmas tree has served to dampen spirits further and taken away much-needed attention from an important state industry.

As we enter the year-end holiday season, don’t let the humbugs steal your joy. Lift the spirits in your home by putting up those decorations and by celebrating the Wisconsin Christmas tree.
