Wisconsin’s proud tradition of the annual gun hunt has never been more accessible. The free Hunt Wild Wisconsin app is back for 2020 with everything Wisconsin hunters need in the field, from property boundaries and electronic regulations, including shooting hours, to CWD sampling and deer carcass disposal locations.
The officers who were shot and wounded earlier this month during the tactical situation in Delafield are an important part of our community. They more than deserve our support for protecting and defending our area. I would like to kindly invite all of you to join this effort and support these officers in any way you can.
COVID-19 LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS
In case you missed it, this week Speaker Vos outlined the Assembly Republicans' proposals to address the current COVID-19 difficulties where we believe we could find a consensus with the governor.
Have you tested positive for COVID-19 and are 14-days post-symptomatic? You can make a difference in your community! Please seriously consider making a convalescent plasma donation to help others.
Explore the details and contact your local blood center to schedule an appointment.
ELECTION INTEGRITY
To best protect the integrity of our elections and ensure every legal vote counts, the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections needs specific and actionable information sent to the following e-mail address: election.complaints@legis.wi.gov.
It is recommend that a complaint, concern or allegation would include the following:
Specific and first-hand information regarding potential fraud/misconduct. Hearsay or news reports of non-specific events are not useful.
Detail on the incident/practice being reported (what, where, when and who).
Any supporting materials that would be helpful in vetting the allegation. This could include photos or names of witnesses.
Contact information so the person can be reached for clarification or additional information. If people choose to remain anonymous, that is their right but it may limit the value of their information if it is incomplete.
CONSTITUENT CORNER
The emotional and mental health toll 2020 has taken on every American cannot be overstated. THANK YOU to faithful constituents like Cansas (pictured), her husband, Tim, and the volunteers of Lake Country Days who continue to raise funds to support local mental health care programs.
NAMI of Waukesha County provides virtual services to connect in spite of current isolation. Visit NAMI Waukesha to learn more. Constituents can also contact the National Helpline any time or by dialing 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
THANKSGIVING FOOD SAFETY
When thawing your turkey for Thanksgiving, allow for enough time to do it properly to prevent bacterial growth. Check out these tips from the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection for thawing and roasting your Thanksgiving dinner.
CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE
You may have heard that our governor has sadly continued his assault on the Wisconsin State Capitol Christmas Tree by prohibiting its placement in the building this year.
As we enter the year-end holiday season, don’t let the humbugs steal your joy. Lift the spirits in your home by putting up those decorations and by celebrating the Wisconsin Christmas tree.
