STATEMENT ON ROUNDY'S INCIDENT

On Wednesday, Rep. Dittrich had the honor of offering a moment of silence and the St. Patrick's prayer on the Assembly Floor for those involved in the Roundy's tragedy. As we await the ongoing law enforcement updates, prayers continue along with our community.

HEALTH

The Assembly greatly improved health care in Wisconsin this week! The Wisconsin Assembly Republicans brought forth numerous pieces of legislation that passed with wide bipartisan support. Rep. Dittrich is honored to be a part of moving our state forward!

  • AB 34 - coverage of individuals with preexisting conditions and benefit limits under health plans
  • AB 7 - pharmacy benefit managers, prescription drug benefits
  • AB 63 - the practice of psychology
  • AB 124 - dentists administering certain vaccines
  • AB 125 - regulation of physician assistants, creating a Physician Assistant Affiliated Credentialing Board
  • AR 12 - observing February 28, 2021, as Rare Disease Day in Wisconsin
    • authored by Rep. Dittrich

CONGRESSIONAL LETTER

Rep. Dittrich would like to applaud the Evers administration on how they have improved delivery of the COVID-19 vaccinations in our state since our poor start in January. At the same time, she joined our Congressional members asking why we now rank last in the nation for vaccinating our vulnerable seniors in assisted living facilities.

As we now know that schools are not the most concerning location for the virus, she would also like to see our federal government focus resources towards those over age 65 rather than directing them to our far-less-vulnerable youngsters.

Biden Administration Commits $10 Billion to COVID-19 Testing for Schools

We should not be responding to COVID-19 in the same fashion we were a year ago when we knew so much less about it than we do now.

EDUCATION

Hearing we have a 12% higher high school failure rate makes Rep. Dittrich more motivated than ever to advance AB 59's expansion of school choice. Parents want assurance of a quality education for their kids regardless of COVID-19.

AB 59 passed the Assembly Committee on Education this week and will hopefully be taken up by the Assembly in April.
