WISCONSIN IS FOR WOMEN!

In addition to celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday and Women in Construction Week this week, our state has the opportunity to follow the stellar example of states like South Dakota, Arkansas, and Mississippi in passing our “Protecting Women in Sports Act.”

In addition to receiving great support from the 38th Assembly District, we appreciate the thoughtful and informed support from around the state.

BROADBAND EXPANSION

Broadband expansion is an issue that has bipartisan support and is greatly needed around our entire state.

Rep. Dittrich is thrilled to learn that "A $668 Million Initiative to Expand Broadband Availability to Unserved Wisconsin Homes and Small Businesses" includes most of the 38th Assembly District!

COVID-19

It’s past time to ease the masking regulations (as the CDC has recommended this week) and get Wisconsin fully reopened! Every metric justifies it. As Texas Gov. Abbott stated, people know the risks and know what to do to keep themselves safe.

Further, Rep. Dittrich is glad to see the vaccine become available to some of Wisconsin’s most vulnerable citizens in the near future. They should have been included in the very first groups to be vaccinated.

PRO-LIFE LEGISLATION UPDATE

In the era of COVID-19, more funds should be directed to clinics providing actual health care to those most in need versus those whose main purpose is abortion.

That's why Rep. Dittrich is proud to be reintroducing her bill with Senator Duey Stroebel prohibiting Medical Assistance funds from going to abortion clinics.

2021-2023 STATE BUDGET

This week we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Act 10 being signed into law. Since that time, Wisconsin's public pension system remains one of the country's only that is fully funded, government jobs have been saved, and Wisconsin taxpayers have been saved over $13 billion.

Our current governor tried to insert a rollback of this landmark legislation into his state budget this year. Rep. Dittrich will never agree to move our state backward after such effective, popular reforms have been put in place. She WILL, however be holding public hearings for Wisconsinites to voice their expectations, questions, and concerns.

This week, the Joint Committee on Finance announced the dates and locations of State Budget Public Hearings.

The public hearing schedule is:

  • Friday, April 9, 2021 UW-Whitewater, Whitewater, WI
  • Wednesday, April 21, 2021 The Hodag Dome, Rhinelander, WI
  • Thursday, April 22, 2021 UW-Stout, Menomonie, WI
  • Wednesday, April 28, 2021 Virtual

Rep. Dittrich will be in attendance at the Whitewater hearing and will announce shortly the in-district listening sessions that are being planned.

ELECTIONS

Rep. Dittrich has heard from countless numbers of constituents regarding election integrity, especially since November.

On Wednesday, the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections held an informational hearing covering scandalous activity in Green Bay in the presidential election.

If Republicans had pulled this maneuver, Democrats would be outraged. We MUST restore the public trust in our election process.

Special Investigation: Infiltrating the Election

Calls have been issued for the Green Bay mayor to resign and legislators are poised to address this sort of behavior, assuring voter confidence is restored.

BIPARTISANSHIP IN MADISON

While it may seem like there is nothing but bickering in the State Legislature, remember that last session over 90% of legislation that came to the floor passed on a bipartisan vote. There are more bills with support from both sides of the aisle advancing this session.

Look for many of these bills to come to the floor in next week’s sessions.
