Assembly Committee on Transportation Testimonies

On Tuesday, I testified in front of the Assembly Committee on Transportation in support of three bills that I authored:

  • Assembly Bill 365: relating to whip lights on all-terrain and utility terrain vehicles
  • Assembly Bill 366: relating to snowmobile noise and the operation of snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and utility terrain vehicles near highways
  • Assembly Bill 372: relating to passenger restrictions on all-terrain vehicles

Next up, these bills will need to be scheduled for an executive session by the committee chair. If these bills each pass through committee, they can be scheduled for a vote on the Assembly floor.

Thank you to Chairman Plumer and the members of the Assembly Committee on Transportation for giving me the opportunity to testify on these three bills.

In addition, the committee meeting was covered locally by WJFW. Click here to read the article

Assembly Committee on Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation

On Thursday, the Assembly Committee on Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation held an informational hearing which featured a presentation about the Office of Outdoor Recreation as well as a public hearing on Assembly Bill 285: relating to veteran boat launch permits.

Wisconsin's outdoor recreation industry generates $7.8 billion annually and supports 93,000 jobs throughout the state. In addition, Wisconsin ranks 5th in the US for share of all jobs in outdoor related manufacturing and 95% of Wisconsin residents participate in outdoor recreation every year.

Thank you to Acting Secretary of Tourism Ann Sayers and Director of the Office of Outdoor Recreation Mary Monroe Brown for providing the committee with their testimonies.

Election Integrity Update

Recently, Speaker Robin Vos announced that Wisconsin will conduct a cyber forensic audit to look further into the issues that stem from the 2020 election.

This is in addition to the swift, thorough, and complete investigation being conducted by former conservative Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, who was appointed Special Counsel by Speaker Vos.

My hope is that between the audit and investigation, any potential issues that occurred in the 2020 election are uncovered. Every Wisconsinites deserves to know that our elections are free, fair, and transparent.
