Protecting Wisconsin Taxpayers

Earlier this month, the Legislative Fiscal Bureau released a report that shows Wisconsin is expected to have a $1.7 billion surplus by the end of the current budget cycle. This massive surplus would not have been possible without the Republicans in the Legislature who crafted a budget that is reasonable, fiscally responsible, and realistic.

I'm glad that we are able to protect Wisconsin taxpayers while still funding top priorities in the state, including education, roads, healthcare, and broadband. Over the past decade, Republicans have worked hard to craft budgets that puts our state in a great place financially, thereby creating budget surpluses and lower tax burdens for Wisconsin families and businesses.

Thank You Afghanistan Veterans

The United States withdrawal from Afghanistan has been lackluster, chaotic, and a failure beyond measure. President Biden and his administration have come across as incompetent, weak and disorganized throughout this entire process, which is a major disservice to our honorable veterans who proudly served this nation fighting against radical Islamic terrorism. We owe all the Americans who stepped up and answered their call of duty our gratitude and respect for serving this nation on their noble mission to defend freedom and prosperity.

With that being said, we must acknowledge that this is an incredibly difficult time for our veterans and they need our support. At the very least, I encourage you to reach out to veterans in your family, friends, or colleagues and thank them for heroically serving this nation.

Draw Your District Maps

Recently, the Legislature launched a website that gives the public an opportunity to participate in the map drawing process. Map submissions are open to any Wisconsin resident and must be submitted between September 1, 2021 and October 15, 2021.

Here's a brief video for details on how the website works.

I encourage all my constituents interested in the map drawing process to check out this website and submit a map proposal.

Yesterday, Senator Felzkowski and I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Ripco Credit Union in Rhinelander.

Congratulations to Ripco Credit Union on the completion of their very impressive renovation project and thank you for continuing to invest in the Northwoods!

On Monday, the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation announced $50,000 awards to first responders through the Rewarding Responders Grant.

To help the brave men and women who work to keep our communities safe, WPS Foundation is awarding $50,000 to 27 emergency response agencies, including the Oneida County Public Safety Dive Team.

Thank you to all our first responders across the Northwoods who serve on the frontlines in our communities.

Swearingen Family News

Last weekend, I had the honor of walking my daughter Jennie down the aisle as she starts a new chapter in life with her husband Bryan. It was a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Congratulations to Jennie and Bryan Kronberger and welcome to the family, Bryan!
