Investigation Update

Here is the latest from Assembly leadership:

MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) issued the following statement today in response to a proposed resolution relating to the 2020 election:

“I’ve always encouraged our members to have a full understanding of the law before putting out bills or resolutions. The resolution being discussed here does not follow the law as has been outlined by the nonpartisan Legislative Council.

“The legislature will continue our focus on uncovering any instances of fraud and irregularities to ensure the security of the electoral process. There will be no action taken by the Assembly on this resolution.”

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Last week, the Capitol Christmas tree was placed in the center of the rotunda. This year's tree is a 32-foot balsam fir donated to the people of Wisconsin by the Menominee Nation. The tree was harvested from the grounds of the Menominee Tribal Enterprise Forestry Center in Keshena.

The theme of this year's tree is "Hometown for the Holidays". Soon the tree will be fully decorated with ornaments handmade by children from across Wisconsin.

Order your 2021 Capitol Ornament TODAY!

The new 2021 Wisconsin Historical Society State Capitol Ornament is now available. This year's design celebrates the Capitol Tree as it makes a triumphant return this year with the traditional tree lighting ceremony on December 3rd from noon to 1 pm. Ornaments can be purchased in-person from the Capitol Tours desk or the Wisconsin Historical Society gift shop, or online from the Wisconsin History Society.
