  Back to School

The end of summer also marks the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. Best of luck to all returning students! Motorists should take increased caution and watch for students in school zones and at cross walks.

If you know someone who you believe is deserving of this award, please reach out to my office for more details. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, September 6th, 2019. A winner from within our assembly district will then be selected in September and he or she will be invited to a Hometown Heroes recognition in the Assembly this October.

The person nominated by your municipality could be a police officer or sheriff’s deputy, a firefighter, or any level of EMS provider (paramedic, EMT, first responder), and can be either a paid or volunteer public servant.

 DNR Update

The Hunt Wild Wisconsin mobile app is back for 2019 with everything Wisconsin hunters need in the field.  The app shows property boundaries and shooting hours and, new this year, hunters can find chronic wasting disease sampling stations and deer carcass disposal locations.

With the start of the 2019 deer hunting season just around the corner, the Department of Natural Resources is kicking off its 11th annual Deer Hunter Wildlife Survey.  The easy-to-use survey is a way for hunters to record their observations of deer and other wildlife while out hunting.  Survey results help track abundance trends for Wisconsin's deer herd and other wildlife.

The public will have an opportunity to learn more about and comment on two proposed administrative rules concerning the assessment of overall health of Wisconsin lakes and streams at a joint public hearing on Sept. 12 in Madison and Green Bay.
