Rainy Day Fund
Wisconsin’s Budget Stabilization Fund, also known as the Rainy Day Fund, was recently projected to add an additional $321 million. Thanks to our enactment of common-sense conservative fiscal reforms, the fund now stands at a historic $649 million.

Back to School
The end of summer also marks the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. Best of luck to all returning students! Motorists should take increased caution and watch for students in school zones and at cross walks.
First Responder of the Year Award Nomination
October is National First Responders Month, and we would like to recognize the brave men and women from across our state that are working to save lives and protect communities.
If you know someone who you believe is deserving of this award, please reach out to my office for more details. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, September 6th, 2019. A winner from within our assembly district will then be selected in September and he or she will be invited to a Hometown Heroes recognition in the Assembly this October.
The person nominated by your municipality could be a police officer or sheriff’s deputy, a firefighter, or any level of EMS provider (paramedic, EMT, first responder), and can be either a paid or volunteer public servant.
Speaker's Task Force on Water Quality
The Speaker’s Task Force on Water Quality continues to hold public hearings around Wisconsin to collect information and make policy recommendations to improve surface and ground water quality throughout the state. Most recently, the Task Force held public hearings in Green Bay and Marinette. To watch the public hearing, please click the video below.
DNR Update
TheHunt Wild Wisconsin mobile appis back for 2019 with everything Wisconsin hunters need in the field. The app shows property boundaries and shooting hours and, new this year, hunters can find chronic wasting disease sampling stations and deer carcass disposal locations.
With the start of the 2019 deer hunting season just around the corner, the Department of Natural Resources is kicking off its 11th annualDeer Hunter Wildlife Survey. The easy-to-use survey is a way for hunters to record their observations of deer and other wildlife while out hunting. Survey results help track abundance trends for Wisconsin's deer herd and other wildlife.
The public will have an opportunity to learn more about and comment on two proposed administrative rules concerning the assessment of overallhealth of Wisconsin lakes and streamsat a joint public hearing on Sept. 12 in Madison and Green Bay.
50th World Championship Off-Road Races in Crandon
The Crandon International Raceway will be hosting the 50th World Championship Off-Road Races this weekend. For even more excitement, the Raceway will be hosting a concert featuring Kid Rock on August 30th.
