COVID-19, also known as Corona Virus, is a new disease caused by a virus strain that began spreading in China in December 2019. The vast majority of people who get the virus will experience mild symptoms, however it can cause severe illness and pneumonia in some people. The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, meaning the virus can be found on all inhabited continents. As no one has an immunity to the disease, the danger lies in its rapid spread. Our objective is to ensure the health care system is not overwhelmed by new cases. To prevent this, we must all do our part and engage in social distancing. This is an unprecedented situation that is affecting the entire world, but Americans have never shied away from taking on the toughest challenges. Together, we will beat this virus.
