Rep. Horlacher Calls for Vote on Fetal Tissue Bill
Madison, WI—Representative Cody Horlacher (R-Mukwonago) is proud to have started off the fall session by voting to defund Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin and divert those federal funds to local health organizations, but more work needs to be done to protect the unborn.
“The lives of the unborn must be protected and we as leaders must be willing to stand up and do everything in our power to further that mission. Fetal tissue from aborted babies should not be used for scientific purposes,” said Rep. Horlacher.
Rep. Horlacher serves on the Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety. AB 305 received both a public hearing and executive session in this committee and was voted out of committee with an amendment. It has not yet been scheduled for a vote in the full Assembly or Senate.
“I am a co-sponsor of AB 305 and I voted to pass this bill out of committee as amended. I have discussed this bill with the authors and I firmly believe that we need to bring AB 305 as amended to the full Assembly for a vote and get this done. I call on the leadership from both houses to schedule a vote on AB 305, the lives of thousands of babies depend on it,” said Rep. Horlacher.
Rep. Horlacher represents the communities of Eagle, Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Mukwonago, Palmyra, and the greater Southeastern Wisconsin area.
