April 16th, 2015

It is a busy time here in Madison! The spring session of the legislature is in full swing as we work together to review Governor Walkers budget proposal in addition to working on various legislative initiatives. This update will provide you with an overview of what I have been up to the past few months and what you can look forward to in the coming weeks. I will keep you updated with these updates but you can also follow me on Facebook for more up-to-the-minutes news, check out my website, or contact the office directly with any questions or concerns. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me and my work on behalf of the 33rd Assembly District and Wisconsinites across the state!

Upcoming Budget Listening Sessions

With the biennial budget discussion in full swing I have scheduled listening sessions across the district to hear your concerns regarding the budget. I had a great time meeting with people in Eagle on April 2nd and my staff met with folks in Fort Atkinson on April 6th. I have two more budget listening sessions to complete this month and more information about those is included here:

Constituent Update

Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to meet with many constituents from across the district both here in my office in Madison and throughout the communities that they live and work in. Below you’ll see a few pictures highlighting some of the visits we’ve had here in Madison.

Legislative Update

The Assembly has been hard at work this session passing bills that keep Wisconsin moving forward! At our most recent floor session on Tuesday we passed legislation banning the sale and manufacture of products containing microbeads (AB 15/SB 15). This legislation protects our water resources, keeping our great lakes safe! We also passed a bill honoring our veterans that establishes a penalty for anyone who falsely claims military service and honors (AB 114). Earlier this session I co-authored Assembly Joint Resolution 4 honoring K-9 Veterans and designating March 13, 2015 as K-9 Veteran Day in Wisconsin.  Finally, with bipartisan support, we passed a bill related to variable rate loans, helping local Wisconsin banks stay competitive (AB 24).
