Cody was born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin. After graduating from East Troy High School he then went out to earn his B.A. in Marketing from UW-Whitewater and then his law degree from Marquette University. Cody is a former assistant district attorney for the Walworth County District Attorney. He has also worked for the Public Defender and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Cody is the Vice-Chairman of the Committee Criminal Justice & Public Safety. He also serves on the Energy and Utilities, Financial Institutions, Judiciary, Regulatory and Licensing Reform and Science, Technology and Broadband Committees.
Cody is a member of the Wisconsin Historical Society Board of Curators, Carroll University President’s Advisory Council, Old World Wisconsin Foundation Board, and the Mukwonago YMCA Association Board. Cody has a true passion for public service and the law. This has led him to his work both at the county level and in Madison as the representative for the 33rd Assembly District. Cody lives in Mukwonago with his wife Karlee and their two children.
