PTSD Bill Passes

It was great day on the Assembly floor Tuesday as we finally passed PTSD coverage for law enforcement and fire fighters!  It took more than four years of work, but we finally got these fine men and women the coverage they need.  We’ve lost 22 reported law enforcement officers to suicide in the last five years and we know that number is higher.

I am grateful to The Wisconsin Professional Police Association, The Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin, The Wisconsin Chiefs of Police, State Senator Andre Jacque and State Senator Van Wanggaard for all of the work and effort that went into getting this bill across the finish line.  But there is still more to do.  We will continue to fight to include EMS.  More to come on that shortly.  Stay tuned!
