Rep. Loudenbeck Statement on State Property Tax Cut

Madison, WI –Rep. Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) released the following statement regarding Governor Scott Walker’s proposal to eliminate the state’s property tax, also known as the forestry mill tax.

“I share the Governor’s desire to reduce the overall property tax burden in Wisconsin and will be supporting the proposal to eliminate the forestry mill tax when it comes before the Joint Finance Committee (JFC). Part of my job as a member of JFC is to take a critical look at each proposal inside the Governor’s budget and make a decision to approve, deny, or amend issues. Protecting the forestry industry in Wisconsin moving forward was an important part of my decision, and I believe we will be able to accomplish that with the choices that have been made.”
