2019 Assembly Inauguration

Book Signing

Fifth Term in the State Assembly

This week I took the oath of office to represent the 31st Assembly District in the 104th session of the Wisconsin Legislature.

Inauguration day was very humbling and special. Taking the Constitutional oath of office was a distinct reminder of what an honor and a privilege it is to serve the people of Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District.

During the 104th session I will be serving on several boards and committees. I was recently appointed Vice Chair for the Joint Committee on Finance and Vice Chair for the Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology. I will also continue to serve on the State Capitol and Executive Residence Board and the State Fair Park Board.

Danielle Zimmerman will continue as my Chief of Staff. Danielle has worked in my office for nearly five years and handles committee issues, policy research, and media communications.

Ellen Schutt is my Legislative Assistant. She has been in my office for three years, including a two year internship. She will be handling my schedule and constituent casework.

I am very proud of the exceptional team in my office. Danielle and Ellen are both highly qualified individuals with deep roots in Rock and Walworth Counties. I am confident they will ensure committee activities, communications and constituent services are handled in a timely and professional manner.

ICYMI: In Case You Missed It

This week the Assembly Republican Caucus sent a letter to Governor Tony Evers outlining ways we can work together on important public policy issues in the 2019-2020 Legislative Session. I am hopeful we can agree on ways to tackle priority items such as addressing the level of debt service for transportation borrowing, improving water quality in Wisconsin, and reducing the income tax burden for individuals. We also invited Governor Evers to our Caucus next week Tuesday and he accepted our invitation.
