Property Tax Cut. Have you looked closer at your property tax bill?  The decrease is due to the $406 million investment in additional property tax relief passed last session.  More than $30 million went to reduce the taxpayer portion of the levy of the Gateway Technical College District.  That translated to a 52.1 percent decrease in the tech college portion of property taxes. Residents living in the Blackhawk Technical College District will see an average of $99.64 in savings, a reduction of 40.1 percent.
