Thank you for reading my weekly e-update. This week was a busy week in the district. I'm looking forward to sharing what I've been up to this week with you.

Governor Evers Vetoed Bills

In the E-Update I sent out this Monday, I talked about the package of bills the Assembly and Senate passed. The package of bills prioritized the one-time money we are receiving from the American Rescue Plan Act 2021(ARPA). These bills put a plan in place on how to use this money and making sure ALL Wisconsinites would benefit. I'm very disappointed to let you know that Governor Evers vetoed the package of bills yesterday (Thursday). We also know that many of these bills include items Governor Evers has supported in the past. He has said this is the year of broadband and proposed giving money to small businesses from the ARPA money. It frustrates me that he didn’t sign the bills relating to broadband or small business grants. Governor Evers sent a clear message to Wisconsinites that he does not want to work with the legislators. I will continue to try work with him by proposing bills similar to the small business grant bill he vetoed and reaching out to his office.

JFC Hearing at UW-Stout

The Joint Finance Committee Hearing at the University of Wisconsin-Stout was very successful. It was exciting to see all the constituents in attendance and sharing what is important to them when it comes to the state budget. I know for a fact that the voices of Western Wisconsin were heard.

Tours in the District
One of my favorite things about being your representative is meeting people in the district. I was able to go on some business tours this week. Thank you to the following businesses for letting me learn more about your business: 3M, Indianhead Enterprises, Derrick Construction and 45th Parallel Spirits.
