As Wisconsin families and businesses struggle with rising inflation and a workforce shortage, I have worked in the Legislature to cut taxes and ensure that Wisconsinites can keep as much of their money as possible. This included supporting the Legislature’s historic $2.7 billion income and local property tax cut this past summer.
At the same time, Governor Evers proposed raising taxes on Wisconsinites by over $1 billion in his budget proposal. However, once the Legislature threw out his “Badger Bounce Backwards” proposal and passed its own responsible budget, Evers suddenly flip-flopped and falsely claimed responsibility for cutting taxes, despite fighting to raise taxes every step of the way.
Now, as Wisconsinites’ approval of the Evers and Biden administrations continue to fall rapidly, Evers, in attempt to distract from his failures and broken promises, suddenly unveiled a plan that former Democratic Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz once referred to as an “election-year bribe.”
While Tony Evers continues to flip flop on his own record and radical agenda, I have remained stalwart in my commitment to focusing on helping Wisconsin families by keeping taxes low and focusing on issues that will help keep moving us forward.
