Legislation in the Works

This week, multiple bills that I authored were acted upon by committees in both the Senate and the Assembly.

I provided testimony in front of the Assembly Ways and Means Committee in favor of Assembly Bill (AB) 395, which will complete the repeal of tax credits that may no longer be claimed. This is the companion bill to SB 362 that I discussed in a previous e-update that finally takes credits that were removed in the 2013-15 state budget bill off the books.

By removing approximately 19 pages from our enormous statute books, this bill continues the years of work that Republicans have put in to simplify our tax laws.

Additionally, Senate Bill 457, which modernizes Wisconsin's banking laws, was recommended by a committee for passage by the full Senate. This bill will help Wisconsin's financial institutions, such as banks and credit unions, operate in today's economy.

As always, I encourage you to follow my updates on social media or contact my office directly with your questions. Best wishes on your weekend!
