Weekly Radio Address

Click above to see me explain how this budget serves the needs of EVERYONE in Wisconsin with a common-sense approach that provides opportunity for all, without overspending in this week's GOP radio address.

TheWisconsinBudget.Logo.jpgWrapping Up the Budget

Yesterday we wrapped up committee action on the budget by investing in Wisconsin’s working families. I joined my Republican colleagues on the Joint Finance Committee in delivering a package that cuts taxes by over $500 million, centered on a $300 million income tax cut that will be aimed at the middle class, while also ensuring that property taxes are lower than they would have been under Governor Tony Evers' proposal.

Since 2011, Republicans have cut taxes by over $8 billion and have achieved a 50-year low on Wisconsin’s tax burden, while Governor Evers proposed a $1.2 billion increase in taxes and fees in his first budget.

After passing the tax cut package, I was proud to vote to recommend passage of the budget bill in its entirety by the full legislature.

This budget—YOUR budget—is a pro-kid, pro-business, pro-family bill that achieves the goals of the state without raising taxes on its citizens.

In addition to the significant tax cuts, the final bill that has be sent to both houses of the legislature contains an over $500 million increase for schools, over $1.6 billion to improve access to health care without expanding welfare, and nearly $400 million in new funds for transportation.

I strongly hope and urge the Governor to sign this bill when it arrives on his desk and ensure that Wisconsin citizens get the budget that they want and deserve.

As always, I encourage you to follow my updates on social media or contact my office directly with your questions.  Best wishes on your weekend!

Don't forget to visit me while I am serving breakfast at the Sheboygan County "Breakfast on the Farm" event tomorrow. It is a great event where you can see animals on the farm, get educated about the dairy industry and get served a delicious breakfast. I hope to see you there!
