Hub Gerend, this past Memorial Day

Hello,

Hub Gerend, a WWII veteran and a resident of Manitowoc has recently passed away at the age of 102. Hub enlisted in 1941 at the start of WWII. During his time in the service, he was an electrician, a systems troubleshooter, and an instructor.

I had the honor of speaking with Hub at this year's Memorial Day Celebration. He was a very nice man and I am sad to hear of his passing. Fewer and fewer members of The Greatest Generation survive today, and I hope we learn as much as we can from them while they are still with us.

Sincerely,
