If You Are at Higher Risk for Severe Illness

Based on current and quickly developing information, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes certain people may be at a higher risk for severe illness developed from COVID-19. To ensure you and your loved ones have the information you need to stay safe and healthy during this time, I want you to be aware of the following:

  • The CDC believes those at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 include:
    • People aged 65 years and older
    • People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility
    • People with underlying medical conditions, which could include the following:
      • People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
      • People who have serious heart conditions
      • People who are immunocompromised including cancer treatment
      • People of any age with severe obesity or certain underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, such as those with diabetes, renal failure, or liver disease might also be at risk
    • It’s recommended that people who are pregnant be monitored

Happy Easter!

Easter is special time of the year when we remember Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after dying for our sins. As you celebrate this weekend with your families, I'd like to leave you with this verse from the Gospel of John:

"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

I'd also like to share with you again my interview with the 700 club that focuses on my life before becoming a born-again Christian and how my faith impacts my responsibility as a state legislator. Click on the picture below to watch the interview!
