Rep. Tittl votes for COVID-19 Response Bill

Hello, 

Today I stood with my colleagues in the Wisconsin State Assembly and voted for the COVID-19 Response Bill. This bipartisan legislation directly helps those affected by COVID-19. People who have been out of work as a result of the pandemic will be assisted by this bill. 

The COVID-19 Response Bill eliminates the one-week waiting period for unemployment insurance benefits. The change would be applied retroactively to claims made after March 12 and run through February 7, 2021. The legislation also gives the Evers administration necessary flexibility and helps the state capture millions more in federal dollars.

The legislation also provides for the following:

• Eases licensing requirements for health care professionals and emergency medical responders
• Allows pharmacists to extend prescriptions
• Expands SeniorCare to include coverage of vaccinations
• Ensures no co-pays for COVID-19 testing
• Prohibits health insurance coverage discrimination based on COVID-19
• Provides the needed flexibilities to school districts to complete the school year online
• Sets aside $75 million to address future, unexpected needs that federal dollars don’t cover
• Requires the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to develop a plan to assist the state’s main industries (tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, construction and retail)

It has been a very trying and unusual time for everyone in our state. This bill gives people who have been affected the security they are looking for. 

The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration on Wednesday.

 

Conservation Congress Spring Hearing Online Voting Now Open

While the in-person portion of the 72 public meetings known as the Wisconsin Conservation Congress Spring Hearings that were to be held in each county on April 13^th were canceled, the public will continue to have the opportunity to provide input on the natural resources advisory questions from the DNR, Natural Resources Board (NRB), and WCC through the online input option that can be found on the DNR website (search keywords "Spring Hearings"). The link went live at 7 p.m. on April 13^th and will remain open for 72 hours.
