Hearing an Important Bill in Mental Health Committee 



 This week the Assembly Mental Health Committee heard a bill from Rep. Mark Born (Beaver Dam) that would help those seeking emergency mental health care be quickly taken to a mental health facility without harming the patient.

As chair of the Assembly Mental Health Committee, it's important for bills to be heard in a public hearing that could help those with mental health issues

Meeting with Tech Representatives about Electronic Recycling 


Too many people leave their old electronic devices, such as TV's and computers, on the side of the road because there isn't an efficient way of disposing them. That's why yesterday I spoke with representatives from Hewlett Packard (HP) to discuss better ways to recycle our old electronic devices.

National and State News Community Events
  • Tonight is another Manitowoc County Veterans Meet and Greet at Jenn's Java in the back room, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Stop by for some cookies and coffee to reminisce with fellow veterans about stories and experiences in the military. 
  • Rummage-A-Rama is taking place this Saturday, December 14th from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Merchants Building in Manitowoc. Stop by to see over 130 tables of clothing, antiques, and collectibles. Admission is only 50 cents! 
  • Holiday Melodies at Manitowoc Public Library is this Saturday from noon until 1 pm at Manitowoc Public Library. 'Tis the season to enjoy some Christmas cheer! Admission is free!
  • The Delightfully Calumet Light Show continues during Fridays and Saturdays in December from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Calumet County Fairgrounds. Any food and cash donations you bring will go to help local charities.
