Voting for Wisconsin's Future

session 500.jpg

Hello,

This week was packed with two session days, two committee meetings, and a lot of votes that will move Wisconsin forward.

On Tuesday, we passed the Homeowners' Bill of Rights to better protect an individual's use of their own property. Also, a Healthy Eating FoodShare pilot program received nearly unanimous support in the Assembly.  We amended state law to better align with federal law and cleaned up language to improve legislative efficiency for Wisconsinites.

On Thursday, we again voted on a number of bills. The Assembly passed legislation to crack down on sexual misconduct in Wisconsin, like AB 414 and AB 540. Other bills that passed will benefit veterans, combat lead in our water, and open up new avenues for the Wisconsin economy through production of industrial hemp.

I encourage you to watch and review the bills we voted on throughout the week. If you have questions about how I voted or how to access information on any bill, please contact my office.

Now that November session is over, I am looking forward to hunting and the holidays. Good luck to all those venturing out next weekend. However, this is not a break from the legislature. I will be using the time in between session to introduce new legislation, meet in committee, and ultimately serve you to the best of my ability.

Sincerely,

Representative Paul Tittl

Thank you to all of the men and women who serve and have served our great nation. Have a safe and happy Veterans Day, never forgetting that all gave some and some gave all.

Thanks for Stopping By!

During the Wisconsin State Capitol open house, I was visited by Todd Leider. It was great catching up with my childhood friend during this fun event. Todd is a retired Green Bay police officer who now lives in Madison to be closer to his children and grandchildren. I appreciate him visiting!

The Mental Health Committee passed AB 517 and AB 538 this week. The first bill provides people with "invisible disabilities" the option to have their disability linked with their drivers license, license plate, and/or vehicle registration to ease relations with law enforcement. AB 538 deals with emergency detention of dangerous individuals and providing them with medical care. Both bills passed the Assembly on Thursday.

The Committee on Natural Resources and Sporting Heritage held a public hearing on Wednesday to listen to information on AB 573, AB 575, and AB 605. These bills cover turkey tags, the operation of recreational vehicles, and trapping.
