Rep. Tittl Joins Colleagues in Announcing Suicide Prevention Proposals

Madison: Representative Paul Tittl (R-Manitowoc) is proud to join his fellow colleagues in announcing new pieces of legislation that will help those affected by suicide.

“This has been an extremely productive task force”, said Rep. Tittl. “I am confident these proposals will be successful in helping those in need”.

Rep. Tittl and his colleagues in the assembly have been meeting throughout the summer across Wisconsin listening to the experts and to members of the public who have been affected by suicide. Since April, the task force has held public hearings in Madison, La Crosse, Ripon, Marshfield, Eau Claire, and Milwaukee.

He continued by saying, “It was extremely helpful going around the state and directly listening to the people who have been affected by suicide. One of our most important jobs as legislators is listening to the public, especially on the issues that matter most. This is why I always say great pieces of legislation does not come from politicians in Madison, but from people outside of the Capitol with lived experiences”.

Later Rep. Tittl remarked, “This task force has been a great bipartisan step in working to find solutions for people with mental health issues. I look forward to taking my experience with this task force over the last several months and applying it to the work I do being the chair of the Mental Health Committee.”
