Hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the new year. I am very excited for another year of serving the people of the 25th Assembly District and living in our wonderful country. 

With that being said, I wanted to take some time to share with you a range of my highlights this past year while serving you in Madison. ​

School Visits 

This year, several school groups came to visit our State Capitol. I always make an effort to see the students when they come down to Madison, because I think it is important to show the next generation how state government works. Thank you for visiting!

A Youth Apprenticeship group from different schools in our district visited in April. They were very eager to talk about making a career in the trades!

 

Pictures from my In-District Day

In 2019, I had two In-District Days. In April, I toured two global leading manufacturing plants right here in Manitowoc and had a couple of listening session to hear your concerns and answer your questions. I also delivered a citation one of Chilton's oldest family-owned businesses. 

Above I am talking with Greg Jagemann with Jagemann Stamping Company. While on the tour, Greg showed me some of the things his company makes, such as  deep drawn, progressive, and fineblanked stampings. 

 

Here I am talking with Kyle Schleucher of Parker-Hannifin Corp. Parker is a major supplier of motion and control technologies. These technologies are used in the automotive and aerospace industries.  

 

Vern's Cheese is a cheese delivery company in Chilton and has been around since 1964. Congrats again Vern and Edith on the successful business!

In-District Activities

This past Memorial Day, I spoke at the Memorial Day Celebration in Manitowoc to honor those Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country and our freedoms.

 

Here I am sitting with Sen. Andre Jacue at the Calumet County Fair this August. 

 

This September, I attended and spoke at a Walk To End Alzheimer's event in downtown Manitowoc. Thank you to all those who helped out at this event!

 

This November I spoke at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly created independent CASA group in Manitowoc. CASA serves children in need who grew up in neglected homes. Best of luck in the future!

 

Legislative Action at the Capitol

This year we accomplished a lot in at the Capitol. Most notably,this summer we passed a bipartisan budget that lowers taxes and gives rural schools a larger portion of education funded. Below are some pictures of me speaking in support of the budget.

This fall I testified for my adoption bill with Sen. Andre Jacque. This bill streamlines the process by which adoptive children can learn the names of their biological parents. 

 

Earlier this fall I testified with my colleagues Rep. Ron Tusler, Rep. James Edming, and Sen. Jerry Petrowski in favor of a bill that would enable the state to set in place a framework for counties to be able to apply for an additional judges when the need is great. This is a bill that I have been working on since I came to the Capitol in 2013 and the bill that Calumet County has been desperately needing for more than 20 years
