St. Nazianz Businesswoman Receives Pioneer Award

Madison: Mary Floyd, owner of Country Styler in St. Nazianz, received a Trailblazer Pioneer Award at the 2018 Governor’s Trailblazer Awards for Women in Business ceremony at the Wisconsin State Capitol today. Governor Walker presented the awards to 17 recipients in Madison.

“I was very pleased to see Mary receive this award,” said Rep. Paul Tittl (R-Manitowoc), who represents St. Nazianz and attended the event. “As a business owner myself, I understand the challenges involved with running a business. Mary has been at it for over 40 years, and it is easy to see the tremendous impact she has on our community.”

The Pioneer Award recognizes women who have owned a business for the past 25 years or more. Floyd started the Country Styler in St. Nazianz in 1976 and continues to work with Cathy Binversie Riesterer to serve the community after 42 years.

“It’s a wonderful relationship,” said Floyd. “Our community is not looking forward to the day we hang up our combs and scissors.”

She was nominated for the award by Steve Stuebbe, a long-time customer and retired educator from the Chilton Public School District.
