Get to Know Representative Deb Andraca
Representative Deb Andraca was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2020. She represents the communities of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Mequon, River Hills, Thiensville and Whitefish Bay.
Deb and her family are 20 year residents of the 23rd District and they all do their best to give back to our community. She has served as PTO president at Cumberland Elementary school, leader of two Girl Scout troops, a volunteer fundraiser for the Urban Ecology Center, and a Milwaukee-area leader for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.
When her daughters were young, as a stay-at-home mom, she earned her teacher’s license through Alverno College, completing her coursework in 2018. She taught third-grade math at Bruce Guadalupe Community School and was an elementary substitute in the Whitefish Bay School District.
Before starting her teaching career, she was a Vice President at FleishmanHillard International Communications, communications director and lobbyist for the Environmental Law and Policy Center of the Midwest, and press secretary on a Congressional campaign. After graduating from Syracuse University in 1992, she lived in Washington DC where she earned a master’s degree at George Washington University while working full-time at the Solar Energy Industries Association.
Rep. Andraca’s family includes her husband Marc and two daughters in college.
Now in her second term in the Wisconsin Assembly, Rep. Andraca serves on the Joint Finance, Education, and Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation committees.
