How To Stay in Touch

This will be the final E-update you will receive in your email inbox until after the fall election! As mentioned in our most recent E-Updates, due to what is known as the “50 piece rule”, members of the legislature who are running for office are prohibited from sending mass mailings from their legislative offices after June 1st. The reason for this is a good one: your elected officials should never use tax dollars to campaign for your vote. 

 

 

This does not mean we are not working for you! We are still holding in-district constituent office hours, publishing our newsletter online, and my capitol office is available for any of your state government inquiries. If you see me around the district or at a local event, please feel free to say hello.

Around the District

Bike Fed Meeting

In January, Wisconsin Bike Federation awarded Ozaukee County a Safe Streets For All grant which will allow the county to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan for the county highway network. This will include data analysis, an improvement evaluation, and the ability to prioritize countermeasures such as improved signage, road markings, etc. Constituents in our district worked incredibly hard to make this award possible. 
 

I had the pleasure of meeting with staff of the Wisconsin Bike Federation to learn more about the process of Ozaukee County obtaining this award and what it will do for our area. 

Nicolet Union High School District Visit

Senator Jodi Habush Sinykin and I joined Nicolet Union students, teachers, and faculty to meet with local business leaders to discuss their Youth Apprenticeship and career-based learning initiatives. Students shared the significant impact the youth apprenticeship has had for their career readiness and local businesses discussed the benefit of having young people be present in the workplace before deciding their next path.

Field of Flags

Each year, the War Memorial Center in Milwaukee holds their Field of Flags remembrance ceremony. I was honored to attend this important ceremony alongside community members and other elected officials to hear the stories of Wisconsin veterans and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country.

Ten Mile Park

Brown Deer has opened a new park! On May 20th, community members and local leaders came together to cut the ribbon on Ten Mile Park. The land where the park stands has a rich history. Over 150 years ago, the land was home to the Ten Mile Post Office. 
 

This new park will include a pump track, pickleball courts, and a nature play area for younger children. It was a pleasure to see the official opening of this wonderful new addition to Brown Deer.

As the Legislature wraps up our 2025-26 session, we are actively preparing for the next session. As your state representative, I want to continue fighting for your concerns and priorities. Hearing your input is essential to getting things done for District 23.

Most every week, I hold in-district office hours to give constituents an opportunity to meet me and speak to me in person about what matters to them, what questions they have, or just an opportunity to chat.
