State Representative Janel
Brandtjen
Remembering Bob
Gannon
I enjoy my work here in the
State Capitol, representing the good people of the 22nd
Assembly District. I represent people who, for the most
part, lean conservative. It is no secret that Waukesha
and Washington Counties are among the most conservative
in the country. Most everyone here in the legislature is
extremely personable and tremendously passionate about
what they do. It is also very easy to become preoccupied
with making friends and going along with the "group
think", so to speak. A solid conservative can
quickly feel outnumbered or alone. Very few people have the courage to
stand up and be counted, even when your principles and faith
required such action. Bob Gannon always stood up.
Bob Gannon was a husband, a
father, and a friend. As a hard working man of faith, he had
the charm and personality to "give it to you straight"
and still be just a kind-hearted, gentile soul. His
passion and principle along with his work ethic was a
recipe for success. He will be dearly missed.
Wisconsin: Reforms Help Move Welfare
to Work
Malcolm Forbes pointed out that diamonds are just hunks
of coal that stuck to their jobs.
Indeed gaining meaningful
employment is the difference between living and
existing. I firmly believe that everyone who is willing
to apply themselves can enjoy the freedom that economic
independence brings to the human soul. I also believe
that the United States, under the leadership of President
Trump, is in the beginning stages of a rather large
economic explosion, and Wisconsin, under the leadership of
Governor Walker, is perfectly positioned to take full
advantage of the upcoming opportunities. Wisconsin's
welfare reform is working and, according to a study by
the Maclver Institute, over 20,000 people in Wisconsin
have moved from welfare to work. Read the report
here. Providing a pathway to the workforce is the
best social program, period.
The 2017 - 2018 Blue Books are
Here
Every biennium, the State of Wisconsin issues a "Blue
Book" that contains a variety of information
regarding the
State of Wisconsin including information on all the elected
officials and statistics that make Wisconsin a great
place to live. You will find information on agriculture,
businesses, exports, and population demographics. Each
legislator gets a sizeable quantity for their
constituents. For those of you in the 22nd Assembly
District, e-mail your name and address to
