Eight years ago, Gov. Walker began proposing reforms that made government more efficient and less costly. Those reforms have led to an all-time low in unemployment, more jobs, significant growth in state revenue and lower taxes. These reforms have effectively reduced taxes in Wisconsin by more than $8 billion according to the non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau. In fact, last session we eliminated the state portion of the property tax bill and reduced the state’s personal property tax.
We continued our effort to reduce income taxes this session by passing a $340 million income tax cut for the middle class. Unfortunately, the governor vetoed the tax cut but I’m hopeful we can find a way to reduce taxes for hardworking families across Wisconsin.
Assembly Republicans will continue to find innovative ways to fund our priorities and reduce the tax burden for hard working taxpayers in our district.
Bipartisan Coalition Gathers to Raise Awareness for Child Abuse and Neglect
This week, my colleagues and I gathered to raise awareness for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month in April. As part of our efforts to raise awareness legislators and staff came together on Wednesday wearing blue to acknowledge efforts to combat child maltreatment. We are committed to continuing efforts to reduce and end child abuse and neglect in Wisconsin.
