The Week in Review
Getting it
Right
Next week, the Assembly Committee on Jobs and
the Economy will vote on
special session legislation, which would allow Foxconn Technology Group
to build a 1.58 square mile manufacturing facility in southeastern
Wisconsin; a $10 billion investment, expected to employ thousands of
workers. This piece of legislation is arguably one of the most important
bills that will go before the Assembly this session and requires careful
consideration.

At the public hearing last week, committee members asked questions and
expressed preliminary thoughts on the proposal. A variety of groups
testified including state executives, local officials, the UW System,
Marquette, the tech colleges, and the public with the hearing concluding
around midnight.
The Foxconn project could have an enormously positive impact on our region.
It is important we carefully vet this proposal to be certain this deal is
right for Wisconsin and fair for taxpayers. Before we go to the floor to
take such an important vote, I encourage you to contact me to share your
support or opposition for this legislation.
Additionally, I encourage you to read
this report that provides specific details and answers many questions
related to the proposed deal.
I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this proposal.
Have a great weekend!
