The Week in Review
Ringing in the New
Session
On Tuesday, the 2017-18 legislative session commenced
with the inauguration of 99 Assembly Representatives from every corner of
the state, with 11 new members. I am truly humbled to begin my third term representing the
21st Assembly District in the 103rd Wisconsin State Legislature. It is an
honor to be your voice in Madison.
Let's Chat
As the new session gets underway, I welcome you to contact my office to
share your thoughts or concerns as we begin working on a variety of issues
impacting the state. Listening to your concerns on significant issues that
may impact our district is one of my most important roles
as your state
legislator.
My staff, Katelyn and Nick, are located in my office at the Capitol in
Madison. Both are ready and willing to assist you with any issues you may
have related to state government. Be sure to stop by and say hello if you’re
in Madison!

I am eager to continue my work as your state representative and continue
moving our district and our state Forward.
Have a great week!
State of the State Address
Gov. Walker will deliver the annual State of the State
Address Tuesday, January 10 at 3 pm before a joint session of the State
Legislature. In years past, the governor delivered the address in the
evening, however, the President plans to deliver a farewell address to the
nation this Tuesday night. The governor will give his address earlier than usual
to avoid a scheduling conflict.
It is expected the governor will offer brief insight into the budget that
he will officially unveil later this month.
The State of the State will be broadcast on public television and
Wisconsin
Eye.
The Capitol Turns 100
This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Wisconsin
State Capitol building. The 100th Anniversary State Capitol Commemorative
Commission is planning an opening ceremony followed by monthly events
throughout the year as we celebrate 100 years in the historic building. Stay
tuned for more details on the centennial celebration in the coming days.
