The summer months are upon us which means now is the perfect time to get out and explore all the amazing places Wisconsin has to offer before the colder months return.
With extreme heat in the forecast now through the weekend, be sure to follow the tips below to ensure you and your loved ones stay safe.
On hot days like these, it’s best to stay inside an air-conditioned building especially during the hottest parts of the day. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. If you are feeling dizzy, nauseous, or experience muscle cramps, these are all signs of heat illness. And pay attention to local weather forecasts for extreme heat alerts.
Heat stroke can also be dangerous for pets. Remember to never leave your pet in a parked car even for just a few minutes. Temperatures inside the car can spike to 120 degrees Farenheit quickly even with the windows open. Provide fresh water for your pets at all times and avoid exercising your pet during hot, humid days.
