Representative Brostoff has a variety of goals but focuses his legislative efforts on regulatory licensing, Deaf and hard of hearing issues, disability advocacy, and mental health support. A team of bright and hard-working interns plays an integral role in the achievements of these goals and the productivity of the office.
Before applying, please know that much of the work we do in this office is “busy work,” but it is all essential and shared between staff and interns. Interns must be willing to perform these tasks for much of their time. This is especially true during summers and months when the legislature is not in session as there will be less opportunity to attend legislative meetings and to view the legislature in action.
Internships in Representative Brostoff’s office are mutually beneficial, providing interns with valuable, first-hand experience of what is done day-to-day in a legislative office and the office with enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to support this work. Interns typically assist with a variety of tasks, including writing, minor research, meeting attendance, list compilation, handling phone calls, data entry, preparing mailings, constituent relations, press assistance, e-news work, website assistance, and more.
Please note, this is an unpaid internship.
Thank you for your interest!
