District Doors and Survey
In the coming weeks I will be out and about visiting my neighbors in the district. Please keep an eye out for me! I look forward to speaking with you and hearing about your questions and concerns. If I miss you, I will be leaving a survey behind at your door in order to hear from you about where you fall on a couple of issue areas. I really appreciate responses as they allow me to continue to set legislative priorities and best represent you in the Assembly.
If you’d rather fill out the survey electronically, you can do so HERE. I will be personally responding to every survey.
Fall Legislative Priorities
This fall I am excited to get started on some new priorities in the Legislature with your input now that the budget is finished. While there are a variety of policies I have been considering, the main focuses will be comprehensive criminal justice reform, local control for the City of Milwaukee, and efforts to reduce the high number of evictions in our community. I’m excited to be able to get started and will be introducing bills soon! Please do not hesitate to reach out to my office if you have any questions or concerns about these topics or others.
Advancing Critical Legislation
I was honored to support two of my colleagues from Milwaukee as they introduce incredibly important legislation.
Fair Maps - Non-Partisan Redistricting I was honored to stand with my colleagues State Representative Robyn Vining and State Sen. Dave Hansen to advocate for their non-partisan redistricting bill. Wisconsinites across the state deserve a vote that counts and a system that best serves them. We take oaths of office and we must take them seriously— it's our responsibility.
Medicaid Expansion
I joined Governor Tony Evers and Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, along with my legislative colleagues State Senator Jon Erpenbach and State Representative Daniel Riemer for their announcement of standalone legislation to expand Medicaid in Wisconsin.
Podcast Recording
I'm going to be featured on two podcasts this month! I've enjoyed getting to speak about issues that are important to me in a couple of different forums.
Some Assembly Required
I chatted with Rep. Sheila Stubbs (D-77) and Rep. Dave Considine (D-81) this week on the new Assembly Democrats podcast, Some Assembly Required. Please give it a listen on Apple Podcasts or Stitcher Radio!
Tommy Thompson Center
I was recently invited by the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership to record a podcast primarily focused on criminal justice reform efforts in the State of Wisconsin. Details about how to listen will be coming soon!
