Welcome to my latest e-update. Here is a summary from the past week as your State Representative.
Starting on April 15th, state legislators are prohibited from sending out 50 or more pieces of identical materials from our office, including the e-update. That means we can write the e-update and post it online, but we cannot email it directly to you.
So, after April 15th, our weekly e-update will be posted on our legislative website and social media but will not be sent directly to your inbox. If you have any questions regarding this rule, please let us know!
As always, previous updates are available on our website and social media.
Please contact my office with any questions or concerns.
Forward together,
Robyn Vining
14 Days to the 14th (in the 14th!)– Get Your Blue Books Here!
With the Rule of 50 kicking in very soon, Rep. Vining and her team (Meet Steph! Meet John!) are sprinting to make it to as many doors, and deliver as many Blue Books as we are able between now and April 14th! Blue Books are available until April 14th– and the Vining team is hitting the road to bring these Blue Books to all of you! We’ve got 14 days until the 14th– a 2-week sprint! We will be hopping all around our district delivering Blue Books to schools, libraries, school boards, city councils, and maybe the most fun (maybe?), tucking Blue Books into Little Libraries across the district for you, or your children, to find! If you find a Blue Book in a little library, email us or send a letter (info in the cover), and Rep. Robyn will reply!
Black Birth: A Symposium on Black Maternal Health
Thanks to Milwaukee Film for hosting last Saturday’s “Black Birth: A Symposium on Black Maternal Health.” Rep. Supreme Moore Omokunde and I both had the opportunity to attend, and Senator LaTonya Johnson was speaking on a panel.

Healthcare Heroes in the News!
Miguel, who works as a Certified Nursing Assistant, is working toward his dream of becoming an Anesthesiologist. Miguel was forced to take time off without receiving paid medical leave because a family member was sick with COVID-19, which put a strain on his finances.
Frontline healthcare workers have continued to perform their vital roles during the pandemic, because it is not simply what they do, but who they are. These workers deserve hazard pay, healthcare coverage when sick with COVID-19, and paid sick leave. That’s why I authored the Healthcare Heroes Act – so that Healthcare Heroes like Miguel never have to choose between staying safe against COVID-19 and paying the bills again. Healthcare workers have been doing their jobs, now it’s (well past!) time for legislators to do ours.

Trans Day of Visibility
Yesterday, Thursday March 31st, was Transgender Day of Visibility! Governor Evers has declared March 31, 2022 as International Transgender Day of Visibility in Wisconsin.
Until 2021, the State of Wisconsin had never before officially recognized International Transgender Day of Visibility. Governor Evers has now twice recognized International Transgender Day of Visibility, in 2021 and 2022. I am a co-sponsor of AJR 25, a resolution which proclaims March 31, 2021, as Wisconsin’s Transgender Day of Visibility.
We celebrate the accomplishments and resilience of transgender people across the world. We see you, we celebrate you, and we stood with you yesterday on #TransDayofVisibility, and every day. To my transgender neighbors and constituents - you are loved, you are welcome, and I stand with you.
As we celebrate the contributions that trans and non-binary people have made in Wisconsin and across the world, may we recommit ourselves to supporting equality for all. #tdov#TransDayofVisibility

COVID-19 Vaccine Update
As of April 1st, 9,390,283COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Wisconsin and 64.1% of Wisconsin residents have received at least one dose, with 60.8% fully vaccinated.
DHS has reported that new data indicates that unvaccinated individuals are 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with COVID-19, are 10 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19, and die from COVID-19 at 14 times higher rates than fully vaccinated individuals.
The best protection against any variant of COVID-19, is to get fully vaccinated and get a booster shot. All Wisconsinites ages 5 and over are eligible for a FREE COVID-19 vaccine series. Additionally, all those 18 years or older who had their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least six months ago, or got their Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine at least two months ago, are eligible for a free booster shot. Getting your booster shot will provide the best protection from COVID-19, including the new omicron variant.
