Meet Angelito

Representative Angelito Tenorio is a dedicated friend, organizer, and advocate who is committed to uplifting the voices of his constituents and working towards a better future for all Wisconsinites.

Angelito is the proud son of Filipino immigrants who came to the Wisconsin seeking a better future. His parents settled in West Allis, where they worked as union postal workers and raised four kids. This early life experience shaped who Angelito is today - someone who works hard, advocates for his community, and deeply loves West Allis.

This inspired Angelito to lead a life dedicated to public service. Eager to pursue this goal, Angelito enlisted in the Wiscosnin National Guard, while studying Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduating, he worked for Wisconsin Conservation Voters, where he organized and advocated to protect our environment and combat climate change.

The strong roots of community driven activism that were embedded in these experience moved Angelito to run for office. In 2020, Angelito was elected as an Alderman on the West Allis Common Council. He was then sworn in as the representative for the 14th Assembly District of the Wisconsin State Legislature on January 6, becoming the first Filipino American to serve in the Assembly.

Today, Angelito remains humble by staying rooted in the shared progressive vision that together we can create a Wisconsin where all people, regardless of background or zipcode, can thrive.
