Educator, Advocate, Leader

Meet LaKeshia!

Representative LaKeshia N. Myers was first elected to the state legislature in 2018. She currently serves on four Assembly Committees: Agriculture, Education, Tourism, and Government Oversight. Rep. Myers is currently running for the District 4 Senate seat that was left vacant in January.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Rep. Myers is thrilled to be representing the community she grew up in. She is proud alum of Rufus King High School, Alcorn State University (receiving her Bachelor's in Political Science) , Strayer University (receiving her Masters in Education), and Argosy University (receiving her Doctorate in Education).

Outside of work, Rep. Myers considers herself a history buff and actively participants in regular alumni and community meetings.

As a former educator with Milwaukee Public Schools, she served as a School Support Coach and modeling instructional leadership for the district. Once directly serving the district’s premiere alternative education center, Dr. Myers believes in serving the students that have the greatest challenges.
