Steineke, Assembly Republicans Offer Shared Solutions to Evers

MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement regarding a letter Assembly Republicans delivered to Governor Evers outlining the shared priorities they hope to work together on:

“I am proud to join my colleagues in the Assembly in connecting with Governor Evers on things we believe are mutual goals to keep moving our state forward. While we won’t always agree, I am encouraged to see commonalities between Governor Evers’ campaign promises and our legislative priorities.

“As an advocate for homelessness initiatives in the last session, I am excited to continue working to end and prevent homelessness in Wisconsin this session. More broadly, our caucus is committed to continuing our track record of reducing taxes, protecting healthcare coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, and ensuring we have a thriving economy.

“These shared priorities are ultimately what will continue making our state the best it can be for every Wisconsin family. I look forward to working across the aisle to get them done.”
