Federal Funding Follows State GOP Lead

MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Transportation awarding $10.4 million to Appleton International Airport to build a regional aircraft fire and rescue training facility:

“I am happy to see the federal government has been able to follow the lead set by myself, Representative Rohrkaste, Senator Roth, and colleagues in the legislature in securing funding for this incredibly important project in the Fox Valley. A year ago, I was proud to vote for a budget that secured the state dollars needed to make this project a reality. This was the missing piece that will set in motion an important training facility for the state – right here in Outagamie County.”
