As we continue to navigate through this time I thank you for being an informed constituent of Wisconsin's 4th State Assembly District.
Election Integrity
Earlier this week, Governor Evers vetoed six bills that would ensure integrity for our state’s elections and restore faith in our democratic process. Elections should be secure, trustworthy, and transparent. The bills that were sent to the governor’s desk would provide a structure of transparency and credibility for our elections, improving the process greatly from the last cycle. It is unfortunate that Governor Evers chose not to put Wisconsinites first and sign these bills into law.
Hearing From the Public
On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to hear input on two bills that came before the Committee on Insurance. Public hearings are a chance to learn more about a bill from different perspectives, and as the chairman of this committee, I am grateful that my committee members had the opportunity to hear input from the people that these bills will directly affect.
We need your input!
Every 10 years, the legislature is responsible for updating Wisconsin’s district boundaries using the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau, as required by the Wisconsin Constitution. This data was recently made available by the federal government. Now it is time to update the boundaries, and we are looking for input! If you have an idea for the updated district maps, submit your plans here between September 1, 2021 and October 15, 2021:drawyourdistrictwisconsin.com.
If you have any comments regarding the subject of this E-Update, please feel free to contact me.
