Hi, , welcome to my e-update!

As we continue to navigate through this time I thank you for being an informed constituent of Wisconsin's 4th State Assembly District.

Legislature Passes Budget

Last week, Republicans in the legislature delivered on their promise to pass a fiscally responsible and sustainable biennial budget for the state of Wisconsin. This budget provides a once-in-a-generation tax cut while also giving the largest investment to K-12 schools in state history.

Tax Cuts

Republicans have consistently sent taxpayer dollars back to the hardworking men and women of Wisconsin. This budget was no different. Under this budget, the typical Wisconsin family is expected to save $1,200 in income and property taxes.

  • Since 2011, Republicans have cut state and local taxes by more than $13 billion.
  • Governor Evers’ budget proposal would have raised taxes by over $1 billion. Our budget cuts taxes by over $3.4 billion.
  • Our budget reduces the third income tax rate from 6.27% to 5.3%, resulting in a $2.3 billion income tax cut.

Investing in our Students

Our budget increases K-12 funding to the highest levels ever, ensuring a minimum of $781 per pupil for in-person school.

  • Provides additional $12 million in aids for mental health categorical aid.
  • Increases public library system aid by $6.5 million SEG.
  • Adds $7 million for school-based mental health services collaboration grants. This is a 54% increase and meets the Governor’s budget request.

The Governor’s budget proposal was a step backwards for Wisconsin’s transportation infrastructure. His proposal would worsen the condition of the Transportation Fund. Our budget invests more in the Local Road Improvement Program and the State Highway Program than the Governor’s proposal.

  • Approves $60 million more for state highway rehabilitation funding than the Governor’s proposal.
  • Borrows over $300 million less than the Governor’s budget proposal.
  • Invests $100 million in the Local Road Improvement Program and over $130 million in the State Highway Program.
