 Budget Survey Results

The Joint Committee on Finance recently completed its work on the 2019-2021 state budget. The Assembly is expected to vote on the budget bill next week.

Thank you to all my constituents for attending my listening sessions, contacting my office and filling out a spring budget survey. Your input is important to me. I'm proud to tell you that the WISCONSIN budget increases funding for public education, keeps college affordable, funds our health care needs without expanding welfare, invests in worker training, fixes our roads and bridges and cuts middle class taxes. This is your budget and these are your priorities.

Here's a closer look at the survey results for the 4th Assembly District.

Lending a Hand in Fight to End Homelessness

This week I voted for Republican initiatives to end and prevent homelessness in Wisconsin. The “A Hand for the Homeless” legislative package of eight bills.

The “A Hand for the Homeless” package includes new programming and $3.75 million in new spending – a number that more that doubles the state’s current commitment to address the issue. The funding includes an additional $500,000 for the Homeless Prevention Program, $900,000 for the Housing Assistance Program, and $250,000 to the Skills Enhancement Program – meant to work in tandem to attack homelessness from every angle.

The funding for the “A Hand for the Homeless” package was approved by the Joint Committee on Finance in the state’s budget. All eight bills passed out of the Assembly with bipartisan support, and now head to the state Senate for their consideration.
