Protecting our Residents after Natural Disasters
This week Governor Evers signed legislation I authored, Assembly bill 357. This new law creates protections against out-of-state, "storm-chasing" insurance adjusters who flock to Wisconsin after natural disasters, likes tornadoes and floods. Sadly, some of our residents are preyed upon by unscrupulous, free-lance insurance personnel at a time when a property owner and community are most vulnerable -right after a natural disaster. Inflated repair estimates and questionable contractor referrals are not uncommon in these situations. This new law will help protect our residents by ensuring proper state oversight and registration of insurance claim adjusters operating in Wisconsin. It was my great honor to lead on this bi-partisan legislation this session.

Bipartisan Wins for the Legislative Session
A newly released memo from the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau showed that once again, the Assembly worked in a largely bipartisan fashion over the 2019-20 legislative session. According to the memo, the Assembly passed 371 bills, with 94.1% of those bills receiving bipartisan support.
