Hi, , welcome to my e-update!

As we continue to navigate through this time I thank you for being an informed constituent of Wisconsin's 4th State Assembly District.

Equipping Wisconsin’s Medical Professionals

Did you know that the United States leads the world in providing genetic counseling services to individuals at risk of genetic disorders? This growing group of medical professionals is employed throughout university medical centers, private and public hospitals, physicians’ offices, and more. Currently in Wisconsin, there is no licensure requirement for those practicing genetic counseling.

There have been 23 other states that have implemented genetic counseling licensure, and I have been working with Senator Testin to add Wisconsin to that list. By doing so, patients can feel comfortable that they are receiving these critical services by appropriately and fully trained professionals.

Last week, this bill passed out of the Assembly Committee on Regulatory Licensing Reform. It is now on its way to the Assembly and Senate floors to receive a vote.
