Pathways to Employment!

I recently testified in front of the Criminal Justice Committee on a bipartisan bill I authored with Representative Goyke. Assembly Bill 331 will provide a pathway to employment for our youthful offenders by providing much needed reform to Wisconsin's expungement law. This is an important step in ensuring that for low-level youthful offenders who have straightened out their lives, a real and meaningful opportunity exists for a fresh start with a clean slate. You can watch the full hearing here!

Thank You For Visiting!

A big thanks to Pioneer Elementary (pictured first) and Valley View Elementary for making the trip down to Madison to tour our beautiful capitol building this week. Fun fact: Valley View is where I attended elementary school a long time ago! It's always exciting to see familiar faces around our capitol & I'm wishing all students a fun and safe summer break!

Wisconsin is on top in Midwest Economy Index for third straight month!

For three straight months, Wisconsin came in on top among the other five states (Midwest) included in the Chicago Federal Reserve Region. Wisconsin received the highest ranking on the Midwest Economy Index.  We are very proud of the strides our state has made in order for this positive outcome to occur. State Budget Update

District Attorneys

The Joint Committee on Finance voted for Governor Walker's proposal to fund a pay increase for ADAs and DDAs. The state hopes that this will help keep people in the job rather than continuing to see a high turnover rate.

Natural Resources

The Joint Committee on Finance voted in favor of keeping the Wisconsin Natural Resources Magazine, which is published by the DNR.
