Legislative Update

April 21, 2017

Here's What I 'm  Working On For You!

Thank you for allowing me to serve you in Madison. It is my solemn and continuing promise to deliver results on the issues most important to you and your family. Please feel call or e-mail me anytime, or attend one of my upcoming in-district listening sessions. Thank you again for allowing me to serve you, and I hope to hear from you soon!

GBCI Press Conference

This week I unveiled my plan to close and relocate the Green Bay Correctional Institution. The current facility is 119 years old with skyrocketing maintenance and repair costs that now exceed the cost of a new facility option. Insufficient capacity and other care and control concerns within the facility have brought us to a point where action is necessary. I welcome any feedback you may have about this proposal, so please do not hesitate to contact my office and register your opinion.

Successful Listening Session!

Thank you to everyone that attended the listening session on Monday! I truly appreciate the chance to hear from my constituents on the state issues effecting their lives. There are still two more chances to meet me in person and discuss anything that may be of concern. Dates, times and locations are listed on the left had side of this E-Update. I look forward to seeing you there!

AB234 authorizes the creation of an Interagency Council on Homelessness, whose purpose would be to combat homelessness in Wisconsin.

AB229 allows local governments to invest funds for longer than the current three year maximum.
