Rep. Tusler Statement on Middle Class Tax Cut

Green Bay, WI – Today, Representative Ron Tusler (R-Harrison) joined his Assembly Republican colleagues across the state in announcing a plan to provide $340 million in tax cuts for working class individuals and families in Wisconsin.

“In 2010, Wisconsin had a $3.6 billion deficit. Over the last eight years, thanks to Governor Walker and legislative Republicans, Wisconsin now has a $588.5 million surplus. This surplus should not be a slush fund for big government which is why I am proud to support the Assembly Republican plan to provide $340 million in tax relief for nearly two million middle class Wisconsinites. This tax cut targets individuals making less than $100,000 and families earning $150,000 or less. According to the non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau, a median income family filing jointly would see a $310 reduction in net taxes. I look forward to working with my Assembly and Senate colleagues and the Governor to put this money back in the pockets of Wisconsin’s hardworking taxpayers.”
